Delta Air Lines, Inc. is an airline that transports passengers and cargo throughout the United States and the world. As of 2008, Delta and its affiliated Delta Connection carrier service flew to 321 destinations in 58 countries, including more than 500 weekly flights to 63 destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean. Delta is also part of SkyTeam, a global airline alliance that Delta began and which now includes several worldwide partners, and expands the carriers service to over 485 worldwide destinations in 106 countries. Northwest Airlines, Inc, another global airline, merged with Delta on October 29, 2008, and will now conduct business under the Delta name. As of December 31, 2007, 88% of the airlines consolidated operating revenue was derived from passenger airfare. (read full profile)
