Edgemoor Capital was founded by Thomas P. Meehan in 1999. Tom was formerly the president of the Washington law firm Sherman, Meehan, Cutin & Ain, P.C., which he co-established in 1968. Edgemoor helps clients make asset allocation decisions. The firm usually invests the equity portion of each client’s portfolio into diverse groups of 30-35 U.S. and international stocks. Utilities, REITs, other high dividend stocks, preferred stocks, master limited partnerships, income trusts, senior corporate notes, government and corporate bonds comprise the firm’s income. By avoiding inherent conflicts and other advisory relationship conflicts the firm is able to focus on increasing the value of their clients’ portfolios.
