Rubber Description Update
Originating in South America, rubber was brought to England as early as the 1700's. By the late 1800's the first synthetic rubbers were created as a response to an increase in demand. Rubber is an elstomer, created originally from processed latex sap. From rubber stamps, and rubber wrist bands, to rubber roofs, and of course the common rubber band, society has found any number of uses for rubber. Rubber tires have consumed most of the worlds rubber production for the last one hundred years. Rubber has also found a home in the textile market, in the form of elastic. This product has become one of the most commonly used materials in the world.
