Charlie Munger: Investment manager and philanthropist. Munger is Vice Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway. Also chairman of Wesco Financial Corporation, based out of California. Munger served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a meteorologist. Munger founded the Munger, Tolles and Olson LLP, in which he worked as a real estate attorney for some years. Munger partnered with Jack Wheeler and they formed Wheeler, Munger, and Company, which was an investment firm. 500 shares of Berkshire Hathaway, worth $43.5 million dollars, have been donated by Munger to Stanford University. Through many speeches Munger introduces the concept of “Elementary, Worldly Wisdom”. Munger ran a successful investment partnership in which it generated compound annual returns of 19.8% compared to a 5.0% annual appreciation rate from the Dow.
